This year's theme –

Voices

We sought to represent the creative voice – the spaces they’re developed, interacted with, and experienced.
From our minds, to our sketchbook, to the team, and to the world.

Adjusting for remote work
Halfway through this project, winter break started. We suddenly found ourselves working while in different cities.
My team needed a system to enable us to collaborate while remote, using non-collaborative software. Pre-pandemic.
So we could work together over break, I introduced an “assembly line” asset system to the team. For each scene, someone would conceptualize, hand off to an illustrator, then to an animator.
The file hand-off system allowed us to all work simultaneously plus leveraged each teammate's individual strengths.
I developed a style guide to keep our illustrations feeling consistent.
Inspired by the Simpsons.
Rounded corners, flat caps.
Geometric forms.
Geometric shadows.
Consistent stroke width.
Limited palette.
Color primarily for storytelling.
